The Slapton Wheeler Sportive

The ‘Slapton Wheeler’  is a popular cycling event in the Chilterns consisting of a classic hilly long route of 101 miles, a new 62 mile route and also a 13 mile family fun ride for those who are new to organised events. This year’s event takes place on 3rd July 2016 and is organised by Slapton Wheelers Cycling Club in partnership with the Chilterns MS Centre.

The Chilterns MS Centre is an independent registered charity that provides therapies, treatment and support to over 550 people with multiple sclerosis (MS), their family members and carers.  The money raised by this event will help the Centre continue to care for 300 people weekly, by providing physio, oxygen, hydro, complementary and occupational therapy.  Sponsor forms are available from the Chilterns MS Centre, as is information about how to set up an online fundraising page.

The start/finish location in Slapton Village utilises the extensive facilities of the Bury Farm Equestrian Village. Riders will be able to park, eat and socialise all in the same area before and after the event.

The Bury Farm Equestrian Village in Slapton, is less than 100m from the start and registration and has plenty of toilets a restaurant and shop.

The 100 miler and 62 miler ride will be a Strava ride with a page for each. The Family ride will be marshalled at key junctions.

The 100  and 62 miler routes will have feed station at the Chilterns MS Centre in Wendover.
